"We stayed at the Thorney Lakes Caravan Park for the Bank hoilday weekend. We had a wonderful time. We were impressed by the GREEN concept of camping hoildays particularly thing like the reed bed filtration and the solar use. Many birds and wildlife in the lake area. The family running the site were very knowledgeable. "
"It was pleasing to use an unreigimented, well kept caravan park that blended in with rural location where the owners went out of their way to maintain this green conservation approach."
"Very nice clean site, very nice people. Widelife seems to be doing nicely. Heard and saw the first cuckoo for two years. Not living too far from this site we will certainly use this venue again. Carry on the good work."
"We have had another wonderful stay here at Thorney Lakes. So amazed at the natural beauty, tranquillity and wildlife this park has to offer. Would recommend."
"We were inpressed by the innovative environmental projects coupled with a very pro-active recycling operation. The ground and lakes are a delight and very well maintained. The solar heating to toilet shower block sets a benchmark for others to follow."
"We were very impressed with Thorney Lakes when we stayed there last week. They seemed to have thought of every detail - from the recycling of waste to the beautiful nature walk. They were also concerned about the well being of the waterfowl; regularing clearing lost tackle from the ponds. We feel they are very deserving pf another David Bellamy Gold Award."
"Fantastic site. Saw some young deer in the fields. Also three fishermen catching huge fish. Dragonflies seen around the lakes as well as other insects. Cant wait to return - next visit already been planned. They deserve an award."
"We had toi visit Thorney Lakes in Somerset. This is our fourth year. We find everything here we enjoy - beautiful scenery, walks, birdlife and peace and quiet. We have tried other sites for short breaks but this is the one that ticks all the boxes for us."
"It was great to be able to enjoy the Green Fair and Scything Festival at Thorney Lakes in June. What a great opportunity to visit this lovely spot. It was a lovely day and it had a wonderful atmosphere. Its good to see part of the Somerset Levels being preserved and ued for good purposes. We were especially impressed with the reed bed sewage system."
"Weather mixed but site beautiful located and very well kept. All facilities immaculate and beautiful countryside with many interesting places to visit. This park thoroughly deserves its conservation award."
